In 2015 Kashia Band of Pomo Indians were able to reclaim 678.2 acres of coastal property along the California coastKashia is currently in the process of building an educational outreach program that focuses on healthy coastal environments through the exploration of Kashia history, knowledge of MPAs and sociably responsible BMPs, as well as oral history-based TEK alongside modern science.
