This session will introduce the concepts associated with mining mineral resources as an essential ingredient to meet the demands of the modern world, however, also all mining has impact on the physical, chemical, environmental, aesthetic, and cultural characteristics of tribal land.US governmental agencies, industries, and communities must work together to address the hazards of abandoned mines and to ensure modern mines are using environmentally and culturally-conscious methods.
